The Vahterus story dates back to the
late 1980's. Mauri Kontu, the founder of Vahterus Oy, was unhappy
with the limitations that the available range of heat exchangers
had - he liked the compactness of plate heat exchangers but
found that the pressure and temperature limitations were frustrating.
He liked the robustness and high integrity of tubular exchangers
but they took up too much space. Therefore, he set out to invent
a new heat exchanger which gave superior performance but
was
also extremely compact. He set out to achieve these objectives
and this led to the Vahterus organisation being founded in
1990.
Since that time, Vahterus has grown dramatically into a World
Leader in the supply of heat transfer products with over
13,000 units in operation globally.
The success of Vahterus is closely linked to the innovative
corporate culture and continuous investment in R & D. As
well as a team of highly experienced and trained thermal & mechanical
engineers, Vahterus employ full time Research & Development
Specialists who are
working
to improve further on the Vahterus Plate & Shell concept. Several worldwide
patents and prizes for innovative designs and environmental friendliness of
our products verify the importance of this work.
Vahterus is based in South
West Finland, within an area well known for its industrial
heritage. Shipbuilding and Car Manufacture can be found here
as well as the world famous Nokia.
This hub of industrial activity ensures that we have access
to a well developed distribution network. |
